Steve Hendricks has written for Harper’s, Outside, Orion, and the Washington Post, among others. He is the author, most recently, of The Oldest Cure in the World: Adventures in the Art and Science of Fasting. One of his other books, The Unquiet Grave: The FBI and the Struggle for the Soul of Indian Country, was named a best book of the year by several publications. He lives with his wife in Boulder, Colorado, and gets into the mountains as often as he can.
